1st Austrian WAG Team Challenge
Senior + Junior Women's Artistic Gymnastics Teams Competition. Participating Countries: Austria, Czech Republic, Finland, France, Hungary, Slovakia, Switzerland and Wales (Great Britain Regio Team)
02.07.2022 - 02.07.2022
Linz, Oberösterreich, AT

For all participating national teams, this new competition was a welcome test and/or qualification opportunity for the European Championships in Munich six weeks later: Medal winners and even gold medal winners of major events like World Cups, World and European Championshops took part.

In the senior team competition, the favorites prevailed: Hungary won ahead of France and Switzerland. Behind them, the British regional team from Wales surprised in fourth place, ahead of the fifth-placed hosts from Austria, who made too many mistakes for a better result. The other positions were taken - in this order - by Slovakia, Austria II and Finland, the Czech Republic did not participate with a complete team.

The favorites also won in the individual all-around: Hungary's European champion Zsofia Kovas won ahead of France's Marine Boyer, although both stars had suffered a fall. Lea Franceries (France) was happy about the bronze medal. Selina Kickinger was the best Austrian in 13th place, while neo-national champion Carina Kröll did not have the best day: only 15th place after two falls.

Switzerland won the junior competition ahead of Czech Republic and the Austrian Girls, followed by Finland and Slovakia. In the junior individual all around Sona Artamonova (CZE) won the gold medal, Alice Vikova (CZE) silver and Lou-Ann Citherlet (SUI) the bronze medal. Austria's Leni Bohle co-fighted for victory a long time, but a fall from her last apparatus costed her a position on the medal podium, she finished fourth.
